DIALLING UP THE CONVERSATION ABOUT THE PURSUIT OF WISDOM OVER INFORMATION
The year twenty, twenty three feels like time has gained a second or two! It is amazing to realise that we are already wrapped up the first week of March!
At the beginning of the year, God brought my attention to the distinction between information and Wisdom. There is a reality that even though we are the most informed humans in history, there is obviously an immense lack of wisdom all around us. As I meditate and reflected on this thought, I decided to use whatever platform I have to do two things; first to draw our attention to this reality, and second, to encourage, inspire and challenge Jesus followers to be the people who intentionally amplify the voice of Wisdom in all aspect of our lives and allow the fruit of that to overflow and influence our families, our communities and the world around us. Taking this stand has allowed me to listen more than I speak and respond more than I react. I have noticed the difference in my one on one interaction with people and in bigger settings where I get the opportunity to teach, influencing and shaping how people think, how this approach has the potential to change our world for the better.
Find below some of the major things I have been up to since the beginning of the year.
TEACHING ON THE SCHOOL OF TRANSFORMATIONAL BUSINESS MADRID, SPAIN
In late, I received an invitation from Marcelo to come teach in Madrid, Spain. This was surprising to me as I did not know him and wondered how he got my contact. When I asked, he shared that I was recommended to them by one of the staff on the same course that I taught in Norway last year. I found this encouraging because even though I received excellent feedback from the students and staff in Norway, I didn't expect that the staff would recommend me to speak on another course. Through careful thought and prayer, I said yes to the invitation. I arrived Madrid a little bit nervous for two reasons; first because I had never been to Spain or Madrid and second, because the course was in Spanish, all my teaching would be translated and only the leaders spoke English! By Monday lunch time, I realised that my nerves and concern about barriers language would cause was futile. The warm and welcoming culture of the Spanish and Latin America permeated everything, I connected with the whole class instantly and found ways to get pass the language gap (a lot of the students spoke some English and staff in the community were generous to provide translation).
There were 10 students who were all running their business and participated in the course to learn how to engage in the business world in a way that reflected God's light and truth. I taught on the topic Marketing Strategy & Research. It was a great experience for me and the feedback from student and staff was tremendous. I was asked to share a message for their graduation ceremony.
TEACHING ON CREATE & COMMUNICATE COURSE LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND
I got the opportunity to teach on the Create and Communicate Course in YWAM Lausanne last week. This is a new course that teaches the foundations of communication from a Biblical perspective and fulfils the UofN core course requirement for all degree students. There were 7 students from North America and Europe and I had the best time with them teaching Communication Strategy. I covered the why, how and what of Communication and the steps to creating an effective Communication Strategy. The students were all generation Z and it was eye opening to interact with them and listen to how they see the world and how they want to be salt and light to their generation.
It was both encouraging and a blessing to listen to the feedback from the students and staff about what the content and learning experience changed in their lives.
YWAM BURTIGNY WEBSITE PHASE 2
In my last update I shared that phase 1 of YWAM Burtigny was done. I am pleased to share that phase 2 (includes full French translation, forms translation and mobile version) is now completed.
Thank you so much for your attention and for your prayers, support and friendship.
